We aim to discuss the Library’s place and social function, pointing out the challenges that are being posed in this period, since this is essentially a space for coexistence and access to information. Therefore, we problematize the context in which we are inserted (pandemic, education, social isolation), relating it to the political discourses that touch it. Thus, in this qualitative work, we have as a corpus of analysis, the statement of President Jair Bolsonaro at the beginning of the Pandemic in Brazil, since this speech influenced many actions that directly impacted education, and consequently our performance within the scope of the Library. In the methodological path, for data collection, we used bibliographic research, and for data analysis and interpretation, we adopted the procedures and principles of French discourse analysis. Thus, we understand that the first presidential speech contributed to, by denying and / or minimizing the virus, having problems with the acquisition of inputs for the vaccine and, hampering vaccination as well as the correct social isolation by the population. As a consequence, our actions as workers of education in the Library were carried out within an uncertain context, however, without losing the focus of its importance for the community it serves.ptO lugar e a função social da Biblioteca: possibilidades e desafios em tempos de PandemiaCapítulo de Livro2024-01-25
