| dc.description.abstractother | This work describes the development of an integrated navigation and control system for differential mobile robots in the IEEE Very Small Size Soccer Futebol de Robôs de Tamanho Muito Pequeno (em inglês, Very Small Size Soccer) (VSSS) category. Developing this technology is a complex challenge, as it requires the integration of strategies that address perception, kinematic constraints, and the need for rapid adaptation to dynamic trajectories in a limited playing space subject to measurement noise. To solve this problem, an architecture based on the Artificial Potential Fields (APF) approach is proposed. The strategy combines reactive planning for real-time obstacle avoidance with coupled linear and angular control laws. This ensures that the vehicle intercepts the ball and navigates autonomously and smoothly, respecting the physical constraints of the motors and the limits of the competitive environment. The methodology uses computer vision techniques for real-time tracking of the robot and the ball. The angular control system employs a PID structure associated with potential fields, also integrating ball trajectory prediction algorithms and decision-making for driving towards the opponent's goal. Practical experiments were used to verify the integrated operation of computer vision, navigation, and control under different positioning and motion conditions, including ball approach, tracking of a moving reference, and reorientation under a large angular error. Future work includes expanding the system to a multi-agent team, migrating the architecture to ROS 2, and incorporating artificial intelligence techniques for trajectory optimization and predicting opponent movements. | |
