Construção civil: o caminho percorrido por jovens operários

| dc.description.abstract | O presente trabalho parte de uma indagação feita pelo do sociólogo francês François Dubet: “Comment devient-onouvrier?” “Como nos tornamos operários?”. Como o jovem francês se torna um operário? Esse jovem entra para a classe operária com muita resistência. Resiste à indústria, ao trabalho cansativo e malpago, mas entram, apesar de tudo, pois esse futuro se apresenta como um “destino”. Transportando-nos para o Brasil, para a nossa realidade, muito especificamente para a construção civil, espaço de trabalho em que foi realizada a pesquisa, interessa saber então, a partir da indagação de François Dubet, como o trabalhador da construção civil se torna um operário. No caminho percorrido por esse operário, quais fatores pesaram mais na condução do seu destino? Seria a escola? Seria a família? Seriam as múltiplas relações sociais e experiências culturais? Seriam outros fatores encontrados nos próprios operários? Na busca por uma resposta a essa indagação, embasou-se em estudos sobre a escola e as diferentes abordagens sobre o fracasso escolar, a família e os estudos sobre seu papel e sua relação com a perspectiva profissional dos filhos e os estudos sobre o indivíduo e suas relações sociais. Foram realizadas entrevistas e aplicados questionários para os alunos do Programa de Estudos em Engenharia, Sociedade e Tecnologia (PROGEST) na qual se construiu o perfil dos alunos do curso Gestão de Obra das turmas do segundo semestre de 2016 e primeiro e segundo semestres de 2017. Nessa pesquisa, cujo objetivo era compreender os fatores que os levaram ao destino operário, suas vidas escolares e familiares e suas perspectivas profissionais e suas relações sociais revelaram que, na sua trajetória de vida, não obstante o esforço familiar para mantêlos na escola, as condições precárias nas quais se encontravam quando jovens contribuíram fortemente para uma trajetória escolar marcada por rupturas e abandonos que os empurraram precocemente para os canteiros de obras da construção civil. Para eles, a condição operária na qual se encontram se deve muito mais a uma ausência de oportunidades ou a um fracasso da situação na qual viviam do que propriamente a um fracasso escolar. Distantes de qualquer sentimento de fracasso, eles retornam à escola depois de adultos, se dizem intelectualmente capazes e, visando a melhor se posicionarem socialmente e no mercado de trabalho, alimentam expectativas de dar continuidade aos estudos, inclusive em nível superior. | |
| dc.description.abstractother | The present work is based on an inquiry made by the French sociologist François Dubet "Comment devient-onouvrier?" "How do we become workers?" How does the young Frenchman become a factory worker? This young man enters the working class with a lot of resistance. It resists the industry, the tiresome and underpaid work, but they enter in spite of everything, because this future presents itself as a "destiny". Transporting us to Brazil, to our reality, very specifically for the civil construction, work space that we carry out the research, we are interested then to know, from the inquiry of François Dubet, how the construction worker becomes a factory worker. On the road traveled by this worker, what factors weighed more in the conduct of his destiny? Was it school? Was it family? Are the multiple social relations and cultural experiences? Are other factors found in the workers themselves? In the search for an answer to this question, we rely on studies about school and the different approaches to school failure. The family and studies about their role and their relationship with the professional perspective of the children and the studies about the individual and their social relations. We conducted interviews and applied questionnaires to the students of the Engineering, Society and Technology (PROGEST) Program in which we built the profile of students in the Work Management course of the second semester of 2016 and the first and second semester of 2017. In this research, whose objective was to understand the factors that led them to the workers' destiny, their school and family lives and their professional perspectives and their social relations revealed that, in the life trajectory of these individuals, despite the family effort to keep them in school, the precarious conditions in which they were when young, contributed heavily to a school trajectory marked by ruptures and abandonments, that pushed them early to the construction sites of the civil construction. For them, the working condition in which they find themselves is due more to an absence of opportunity or to a failure of the situation in which they lived than to a school failure. Far from any sense of failure, they return to school after adults, if they say they are intellectually capable and, in order to better position themselves socially and in the labor market, they fuel expectations of continuing their studies, even at the higher level. | |
